Gateway Central is a new building in the White City Place development in the west of London. Working under the main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine and for the developer Stanhope, the project was a great success and a pleasure to work on.
Completed in 2023, the installation includes three machines across three floors with differing requirements and needs.

On the roof, the BMU parks below the plant screen on a lift to remain hidden from the local skyline when not in use.

With space on the roof often at a premium the BMU was installed on a dedicated working platform allowing plant and other items to be installed on the main roof level.
The other advantage of the raised steelwork frame enabled developers and architects to install solar panels to help provide a sustainable carbon efficient building.

On the lower terraces, two trackless BMUs were installed to provide a more discreet solution that enables tenants to have a usable terrace for their employees or guests.

A well designed terrace incorporated landscaping to minimize the impact of tracks and also the appearance of a BMU when not in use.
